ExNoRa Naturalist Club will function through its chapters in Schools , colleges , towns & villages .
Exnora Naturalists’ Club (ENC) is anaffiliated body of Exnora International. Its main object is uniting people to preserve nature, prevent environmental degradation and protect endangered flora and fauna. The ENC was inaugurated by Mr. M.B. Nirmal at Kodaikanal on the Palani Hills in 1994. Our President Era Meyappan who has 35 years experience has made three lakh fourteen thousand youth from all over the country and abroad, trek on different mountains including Himalaya so far.
The major objectives are
- To design and conduct research covering all aspects of biodiversity and natural history.
- To develop and conduct regular nature camps and orientation courses.
- To create data bank on environment and nature.
- To disseminate knowledge relating to nature for the benefit of the community.
- To confer honorary awards and other distinctions to persons who have rendered outstanding services in the fields of nature conservation.
The objects are achieved by education through nature camps, slide presentations and field studies, there by awareness on environmental management, conservation and preservation of nature can be spread effectively.
ENC is regularly conducting trekking and nature camps at Kodaikanal, Mundanthurai, Top slip, Parambikulam, Silent valley, Munnar,,Yelagiri, Kolli Hills, the Himalaya and many such places.
Our camps are not profit motive, but to involve naturalists students, their parents and also for teachers for experiencing the life in the forest. This will be a wonderful opportunity for participants to learn about wildlife and the flora and fauna that go along with it to make up a forest. |
